6 injured in BCL attack at DU, JCD alleges

Dhaka, May 06: Leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) came under attack by Chhatra League at Curzon Hall gate of Dhaka University, JCD alleged.

The incident happened while the JCD men were welcoming Dhaka University’s admission seekers with flowers at the hall gate. Six of them were injured in the attack.

DU Chhatra Dal president Khorshed Alam Sohel said, “BCL men attacked us while we were greeting the admission seekers with flowers. Six of our party men were injured.”

Refuting the allegation, DU general secretary Tanvir Hasan Shaikat said, “We were busy to provide services to the admission seekers. A total of 18 booths were set up to help the students. We also provided water and bike services. The incident happened between two groups of JCD due to internal conflict.”
