Fakhrul sets condition to join dialogue

Dhaka, Jan 14: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said Jatiya Oikyafront will join dialogue if there is an election-centric agenda.Fakhrul, also the spokesperson of Jatiya Oikyafront, said this while briefing to the journalists after offering zirah of the graveyard of Hazrat Shahjalal (R).

“Our demand is an election under a neutral government. The elections which was held on December 30 last mast be canceled,” Fakhrul said.

He also said a public government has to be formed through an election under the neutral government by scraping the inefficient election commission.

Earlier, a delegation team of BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront reached Sylhet by a Biman airlines flight to express their sympathy to the relatives of Balaganj upazila Chhatra Dal general secretary Sayem Ahmed Sohel who was killed in the violence during the 11th parliamentary elections held on December 30 last year.

Krishak Shramik Janata League president Bangabeer Kader Siddiqui, Gono Forum executive president advocate Subrata Chowdhury, its General Secretary Mostofa Mohsin Montu, JSD president ASM Abdur Rab are in the team.
