The New Nation Editor AM MUFAZZAL passes away


Dhaka, Feb 26: Senior journalist and The New Nation Editor AM MUFAZZAL has passed away on Saturday evening. He was about 82.

The renowned journalist Mufazzal breathed his last at his own residence at Uttara in the capital on Saturday at 6:40 pm.

His health condition was deteriorating in last several days. He was fighting with dementia and other old age complications. His only son Razib lookafter him after the death of Razib’s mother .

AM Mufazzal left behind only son Razib and a host of relatives, well-wishers, friends and followers to mourn his death.

During his long time work as editor and news editor of different papers he creates hundreds of renowned journalist.

A man of great personality, AM Mufazzal was born in a respectable Muslim family of Dhanbari, Tangail on December 1, 1939.

AM Mufazzal was the permanent member of the National Press Club. He achieved his Honours and Masters degree in Political Science from Dhaka University. He started his journalism at The Bangladesh Observer and the Daily Mail.

Later he became Editor of The Bangladesh Times, The Morning Sun, The New Nation and The Daily News. He worked as Advisory Editor of The Bangladesh Observer, The Independent and renowned weekly medical journal The Pulse.

AM Mufazzal was close associates of Editor Abdus Salam and ABM Musa. He visited different countries of the world and took different training from various organizations including Commonwealth and United Nations.

His first Namaz-e janaja will be held at the National Press Club premises at 10:00am on Sunday where fellow journalists will pay wreath to the late journalist.

The late Editor’s family sources said that his last namaz-e janaja will be held at Uttara sector -4 Masjid after Johr prayer and then he will be laid for eternal rest at the nearby grave yard in Uttara.
