During the period, 614 more people were diagnosed with the virus, raising the total infection to 5,47,930, the Directorate General of Health Services said in a press release on Wednesday.
Of the total patients, 4,99,637 recovered, with 936 made recovery in the last 24 hours.
The daily count came from test of 16,414 samples in the past day. With this, a total of 40,72,922 samples have, so far, been tested.
Bangladesh first reported its COVID-19 cases on March 8. Since then the country has been struggling to limit spread of the highly contagious virus.
Coronavirus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December last year, and then spread to newer countries and territories.
Till date, the epidemic infected 115,384,577 people and killed 2,562,468 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
However, total number of people who recovered from the coronavirus pandemic reached 91,183,367 across the world.
