Dhaka, Oct 14: The Election Commission has decided to file case against Faridpur-4 lawmaker Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury (Nixon) on charge of threatening deputy commissioner and scolding responsible executive magistrate in election.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said this in a press briefing at Nirbachan Bhaban on Wednesday.
He said, “We’ve decided that a case would be lodged against parliament member Nixon Chowdhury. Within today or tomorrow, case would be filed with police station.”
Nixon Chowdhury faced allegation of threatening and scolding deputy commissioner, and officials assigned to election duties over By-polls in Faridpur’s Charbhadrasan upazila chairman election.
But Nixon in a press conference on Tuesday denied the allegation.
