Rajshahi locked down after first coronavirus detection


Rajshahi, April 14: The northern district Rajshahi has been put on lockdown to curb the spread of novel coronavirus after the first cases of the virus were recorded in the district.The restrictions will remain effective until further order, said deputy commissioner Md Hamidul Haque on Tuesday.

Two people have already been infected with COVID-19 in Rajshahi, said the public notice issued in this regard.

The lockdown meant disallowing the flow of people in and out of the district during the period of restrictions.

Some 803 people caught the novel coronavirus and 39 died from the virus in Bangladesh as of Monday since the country detected first cases on March 8.
