Dhaka, September 11: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president and general secretary are no more welcomed into the prime minister’s official residence Ganabhaban in the capital, media reports.According to the sources from Ganabhaban, respective officials on Tuesday were ordered to cancel BCL president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shobhon, and its general secretary Golam Rabbani’s entry pass.
According to the sources, there is a list of central leaders of Awami League and its associated and fraternal organisations who are orally permitted to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directly entering into her official residence Ganabhaban. Names of the Chhatra League president and general secretary were excluded from that list.
As a result, BCL president and secretary cannot enter into the Ganabhaban directly. Now, like others, they also have to collect temporary entry pass from the respective officials to meet the premier.
According to several leaders who had attended Saturday’s (Sep 7) joint meeting on of Awami League parliamentary and local government nomination board, confirmed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered to exclude two BCL leaders name from the list as she was annoyed over their various controversial activities.
