Dhaka, July 28: State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman on Sunday said so far 75 people have been killed in the ongoing floods in various districts of the country.“As many as 75 people have died in the ongoing floods in 14 districts and around 60,74,415 others affected in 28 districts of the country,” he said.
He disclosed the information at a press conference on overall flood situation and relief materials’ distribution programme taken by the government, at his secretariat office at noon.
He also informed that of the victims, 6,30,383 were completely affected and the rest partially suffered.
“The flood situation has been improving at present. It will not prolong further. The water level will fall within next two or three days. If it lasts long, there won’t be any shortage of relief materials,” the state minister added.
The districts which are inundated by floods are Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban, Khagrachari, Rangamati, Feni, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Netrakona, Sherpur, Tangail, Jamalpur, Bagura, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Sirajganj, Rajbari, Faridpur, Madaripur, Shariyatpur, Manikganj, Munshiganj and Chandpur.
