President hosts iftar for ulema, FFs


Dhaka, May 07: President M Abdul Hamid on Tuesday hosted an Iftar party for Islamic scholars (alem-ulema), injured freedom fighters, family members of Birshresthas, orphans, and Bangabhaban officials and employees at Bangabhaban here.Before the Iftar, the President exchanged pleasantries with the guests and enquired about their well-being, BSS reports.

Earlier, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country.

Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Maulana M Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.

President’s spouse Rashida Kanam, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah, State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed, Rejwan Ahammad Toufiq, MP, a good number of war-wounded freedom fighters, eminent Islamic scholars, orphans from different child homes, and officials and employees of the Bangabhaban attended the Iftar party.
