Dhaka, May 5: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said that writing against religion is criminal offence and urged all to restrain from it.
“Unnatural sex and writing against religion are criminal offence,” the home minister told reporters after a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Desai Biswal in capital.
“I clearly said that there is no existence of Islamic State (IS) in Bangladesh. The country is fully control under the government,” he said in reply to a query.
He also urged the Bloggers that they should restrain from hurting religious sentiments.
“It is a criminal offence when bloggers hurt religious sentiments of the public,” he added.
According to him, the issues of murder of LGBT magazine editor Xulhaz Mannan, press freedom in Bangladesh, terrorism and US-Bangladesh partnership were also discussed at the meeting.
The minister also said that the government will take action with iron hand to prevent terrorism even any international terrorist group try to conduct criminal offence.
