Themorningbellbd.com desk, May 12: David Warner believes Mustafizur’s bowling at death helped them to win against Rising Pune Super giants.
Warner said, “It was a close game. I thought we were 25-30 runs short. But bowlers did fantastic job to win us the game. Specially Mustafizur was excellent at the death. He always does the trick for us in the death overs. He made the total easier for us to defend. He is so effective at the death that I can’t think anyone but him to use in there.”
The baby-faced pace sensation was exceptionally well in the death overs. After conceding 8 runs in his first over, which happened to be the 11th over of the innings, the Fizz was again brought back into attack in the 15th over. In the 15th, 17th and 19th over, the wonder kid leaked 8, 5 and 8 runs respectively. It means in his crucial last two overs when the opposition needed more than 10 runs per over, Mustafizur gave away only 13 runs.
Such incredulous was Mustafizur’s bowling at death that even MS Dhoni couldn’t find a single boundary in those overs.
The Australian opener also credited the Bhuvneshwar Kumar-Ashish Nehra pair for the hard fought win in a low scoring bout. “Nehra did well in the last over to guide us to win. Bhuvneshwar too was flawless in his spell. He has been doing his job quite perfectly as well as consistently in every single match.”
Sunrisers skipper congratulated his compatriot Adam Zampa who finished with an unbelievable figure of six for 19 for Pune. “I think we lacked professionalism in our batting today. As the top team on the points table, we have to fare well in the matches ahead. However, I would like to congratulate Zampa, he bowled brilliantly.”
