Pabna, Oct 10: Villagers have killed two suspected cattle-thieves in Pabna on Saturday.
Police said the lynching was reportedly occurred early morning on Saturday in Pabna’s Ataikula area.
The victims are yet to be identified and the bodies have been kept at the Pabna General Hospital.
OC Nur-e-Alam of Ataikula police said that they rescued an injured person from the spot and sent him to hospital for treatment.
He said the injured person identified as ‘Yarul’, who hails from Natore district.
Police suspect he belongs to a gang of cattle-thieves.
According to OC Alam, a group of 8 to 10 thieves entered the village early morning and attempted to steal cows.
“Sensing their presence, the villagers gathered in strength with stick and caught three of them while the others managed to flee.”
Locals beat to death two while the other was rescued by police.
