Dhaka, July 10: Nisha Desai Biswal, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, arrived in Dhaka on Sunday morning in the context of Gulshan attack.
She will discuss Bangladesh’s security situation with the government following the Gulshan and Sholakia terror attacks during her two-day visit in Bangladesh.
Biswal is expected to meet with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali around 3:00 pm and around 12:00 pm with Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque at state guesthouse Padma.
She is also scheduled to meet with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
She will discuss the recent Gulshan and Sholakia terror attack as well as the progress of investigation of USAID official and Gay rights activist Julhas murder at capital’s Kalabagan, sources said.
Nisha Desai was scheduled to visit Bangladesh at the end of the month, however, her schedule was changed due to the terror attack at Holey Artisan bakery at Gulshan that killed 20 local and foreign nationals, diplomatic sources said.
