Two killed in city road crash amid AL clash


Dhaka, November 10: Two people were killed when a pickup van rammed them during a factional clash of Awami League in capital’s Adabar area on Saturday.

Mohammadpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jamal Uddin Mir confirmed the matter to media.

The incident happened around 11am.

The deceased were identified as Sujan, 18, son of one Ruhul Amin in Nobodoy Housing area of Adabar and Arif, 15.

An incident of chase-counter-chase broke out among two local groups of Awami League in Adabar in the morning. A pick-up van ran over the two boys while it was in a mad rash to leave the area.

Sujan was whisked-off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty physician pronounced him dead.

Arif was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
