‘Try Badrul in speedy tribunal’: Khadiza`s father demands


Dhaka, October 6: Masuk Miah, father of critically injured Sylhet college student Khadiza Begum Nargis on Thursday demanded justice in speedy tribunal over attack on her daughter.

Khadiza is now battling with her life at city’s Square Hospital.

The father made the statement while replying to newsmen around 3:00pm on Thursday.

Masuk Miah said, “I am a father of a victim. Please pray for my daughter. The attacker Badrul should be punished under speedy tribunal.”

Besides, Khadiza`s brother Shaheen Ahmed said the situation of Khadiza is little bit better.

“We want justice on the attack of my sister,” he added.

Earlier in the day, students and teachers of Sylhet Government Women’s College arranged a protest rally in the city around 10:00am and submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister through the District Administration.

Khadiza, 23, a Degree 2nd year student of Sylhet Govt Women’s College, was stabbed allegedly by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit BCL leader Badrul Alam on her way home from MC College after appearing at examination following the refusal of his proposal for having an affair with him.

Hearing the victim’s screams, locals rescued Khadiza and caught Badrul from the spot and handed him over to police after giving him a good thrashing.
