Transport strike for indefinite period in Sylhet called off


Sylhet, February 18: The transport strike for indefinite period called by District Microbus Association in Sylhet has been withdrawn on Saturday.
The strike which began at 6.00am Saturday has been called off after a meeting of transport leaders with administration, Shah Ripon Ahmed, President of Sylhet District Microbus Association confirmed.
He further said that the administration has assured them for taking action in releasing their transport workers.
The strike was enforced by District Microbus Association demanding the release of three transport labourers detained by police for carrying alcohol. The District Transport Labourers Union also joined the strike.
