Bandarban, April 18: Police of Bandarban on Monday recovered the bodies of three cattle traders at Ali Kadam under Thanchi Upazila three days after their abduction.
The deceased, who were hailed from the Alikadam, identified as Nurul Absar, Abu Bakar and Sahabuddin.
Officer-in-charge of Thanchi police Sirajul Islam said the bodies were recovered during a search in the Upazila’s Dim Paharh area around 3:30pm.
The bodies were sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Local sources said that police found the bodies from a water body in the area. Three of them were slaughtered.
The cattle traders were kidnapped from Thanchi-Alikadam road’s Dim Paharh area on Friday.
Police later detained four people for their suspected involvement in the crime.
The abductors had demanded Tk 300,000 as ransom from the families of the three cattle traders, Thanchi Sadar Union Chairman Mangsar Mrom said earlier.
But police refused to comment on the ransom.
