Suspected militant den cordoned off at city’s Panthapath

Dhaka, August 15: Law enforcers have cordoned off a building suspecting a militant hideout at Panthapath in the capital.

Law enforcement agencies including SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) unit took positions around the building since early Tuesday.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told this to the reporters after he paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 in the morning.

He said there might be materials for occurring sabotage in the building.

It has been learnt that Hotel Olio International situated in the building, just opposite of the Square Hospitals. However, it could not be known immediately how many militants and common people are staying in the building.
