Satkhira, April 11: A suspected unidentified drug peddler died in a road accident at Satkhira Sadar Upazila on Monday morning.
He died when the sports utility vehicle was riding in overturned.
Police said they found nine sacks of Phensidyle, a contraband Indian cough syrup, in the vehicle.
Satkhira Detective Branch Inspector Enamul Haque said the incident happened at village Labsa under the Sadar Upazila.
Police could not ascertain immediately the identity of the deceased but said he might have been a drug peddler.
Quoting locals, Enamul said the speedy Pajero SUV was bound for Dhaka from Satkhira.
The vehicle rammed a microbus and skidded off the road leaving the man dead on the spot, he added.
The police officer said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
