Sunken trawler recovered in Buriganga


Dhaka, June 13: A trawler, which capsized in Buriganga river along with its 50 passengers on early Tuesday in capital, recovered by police and fire fighters.

No bodies were recovered after the incident, however, eyewitnesses said at least ten passengers were missing.

Meanwhile, Fire Service claimed to locate the trawler, however, the rescue team could not provide any information regarding any casualties.

Police said a teenage girl was missing in the incident.

South Keraniganj sub-inspector Shakhawat Hossain said the trawler capsized on the way from Wiseghat of capital to Aganagar Bridgeghat of Keraniganj around 12:00 am Tuesday.

On information, fire service, Bangladesh Navy divers and river police rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.

A 17-year-old girl, Choiti, was missing, he added.
