Dhaka, November 02: Abdur Rahman Badi, a lawmaker in Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, has been jailed for three years in a corruption case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Dhaka’s Third Special Judge Abu Ahmed Jamaddar passed the order on Wednesday morning.
Earlier on October 19, the court fixed November 2 for delivering verdict in the case after hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence.
On September 9, 2015, a Dhaka court framed charges against Bodi in the case.
The ACC filed the case against the ruling party MP from the Cox`s Bazar-4 constituency for illegally acquiring wealth.
According to the case statement, Badi acquired about Tk 10 crore 86 lakh and 81 thousand from unidentified sources.
