Risha murder: Obaidul gives confessional statement


Dhaka, September 5: Obaidul Khan on Monday has given confessional statement to stabbing 14-year-old Willes Little Flower School student Suraiya Akter Risha.

Obaidul was take six-day police remand on September 1.

“Obaidul has given confessional statement before the magistrate in fourth day of his six day remand,” investigation officer of Ramna police inspector Ali Hossain told reporters.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Ahsan Habib sent Obaidul to jail after receiving statements.

Risha was stabbed by knife and the seller of knife Mohammad Hossain also given his state before the magistrate.

Obaidul, a tailor by profession, had been harassing Risha over phone since she ordered some clothes at his shop a few months ago, according to her mother.

He said he was alone when he attacked Risha, a Class VIII student at Willes Little Flower School and College in the capital’s Kakrail area on August 24.Risha

Obaidul was placed on remand for six days by a Dhaka court on Thursday in a case filed by Risha’s mother Tania Hossain.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain issued the order after Ramna Model police station OC Md Ali Hossain, who is investigating the case, produced Obaidul before the court and sought a 10-day remand for interrogation.
