RBS holds human chain in Nilphamari demanding gas-airport upgradation


Nilphamari, Mar 22: Rangpur Bibhag Samity (RBS) on Tuesday formed a human chain in front of Nilphamari Press Club demanding immediate gas supply to eight northern districts, development of infrastructures, upgrading Syedpur Airport to international standard and full implementation of the Uttara EPZ.

Among others, RBS President Abdullah Al Naser, Vice-President Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Nurun Nabi and Publicity Secretary Mafidur Rahman spoke at the human chain.

Samity President called for development of the northern districts’ infrastructures, establishing a Cadet College and university in Dinajpur, make Thakurgaon airport functional and declare Panchagarh as a tourist zone.

Earlier on Monday, Lalmonirhat district committee was formed with Professor Habibur Rahman and Advocate Jinnatul Ferdous Rosy as its President and General Secretary respectively.

They were elected for the posts in a meeting of the samity held at the Doyel Guest House conference room in Lalmonirhat.

Professor Habibur Rahman chaired the meeting while RBS President Abdullah Al Naser and senior leaders addressed the occasion.
