Dhaka, April 30: The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has recommended recruiting 2,000 physicians as health cadre with a view to fight the novel coronavirus, a press release said on Thursday.The doctors would be appointed from the list of those who passed the 39th special BCS exam but were not recommended for cadre post and kept in the waiting list.
Sources in PSC said the 2,000 doctors will be appointed as cadre on an ad hoc basis.
The list and registration no. of the recommended candidates are available on PSC website.
The handout said the list of 8,360 candidates who passed in the special BCS exam was published on April 30 last year. PSC recommended the recruitment of 4,792 doctors.
Later, 4,443 out of the recommended candidates were appointed to the health cadre but the rest were kept in the waiting list.
BSS adds: As per the demand of Health and Family Welfare Ministry, the PSC also recommended recruiting 5,054 senior staff nurses to ensure better healthcare services in hospitals across the country to combat the COVId-19 situation.
