Police takes 2 suspects for 10-day remand over Kunio murder


Rangpur, Oct 6: Rangpur police on Tuesday has taken two suspects for 10 day remand each for questioning over the murder of Japanese national Kunio Hoshi.

Police produced two suspects, including a local BNP leader, before a court and the court passed an order for 10-day remand for questioning under police custody.

The two suspected persons are Rangpur metropolitan unit BNP activist Rashedun Nabi Khan Biplob, younger brother of Habibun Nabi Sohel and ‘Hira’, brother in law of Kunio’s landlord Zakaria Bala.

Police had detained six people, including the two, after the murder of Kunio at Kaunia Upazila on October 3.

“Initial interrogations have revealed that both were involved in the killing. Their remand is needed for further questioning,” Kaunia police station OC Rezaul Karim told reporters.
