Police foils attempt to besiege Pak HC in city


Dhaka, June 8: The ruling party Awami League (AL) activists including several organisations on Wednesday tried to besiege the Pakistan High Commission (HC) in Dhaka alleging that they are involved in conspiracy against Bangladesh.

Protesters under the banner of Muktijoddah Samannoy Parishad, Amra MuktiJoddhar Santan, Sramik League, Chatra League and other organizations began to gather from 10.00am at Gulshan-2.

They tried to besiege the High Commission at around 12.00am when a rally reached at the spot led by Dhaka Metropolitan AL (north) president Rahmat Ullah.Gulshan rally by AL leader against Pak HC

 But the police obstructed them to besiege it.

They later burnt Pakistan flag near Bhatara Police Station and chanted slogans demanding severing ties with Islamabad.

“The recent killings in Bangladesh have occurred as part of the conspiracy of Pakistan’s ISI and Mosad of Israel,” Rahmat Ullah said.

He also called for severing Dhaka-Islamabad flights.
