Police cordon off a house suspecting ‘militant den’ in Jessore

Jessore, October 09: Police cordoned off a house, suspecting a militant den, at Ghop Naoapara Road area of the district town on early Monday.According to a neighbor, Haidar Ali, a school teacher, said there are suspected militants on the second floor of the house of some Moshiur Rahman, hailed from Kushtia.

Kotwali thana officer in-charge AT Ajmal Huda said, tipped off, police cordoned off a house in the area around 2:00 am.

District additional superintendent of police Naimur Rahman said as per information from Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) the house was cordoned off.

According to SWAT, the militants are staying in the house.

A SWAT team, led by ASP Mahbub, reached the area around 5:00 am Monday and visited the area.
