Dhaka, July 7: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday condemned the attack in the country`s largest Eid congregation at Sholakia in Kishoreganj.
“A true Muslim can’t attack on Eid Day. Those who attacked on Muslims during Eid day—they are not Muslims. They are terrorists,” the Prime Minister said this while talking to journalists after exchanging eid greetings with leaders and workers of her party and people of all strata at her official residence Ganobhaban.
She further said, “If there`s any pampering of terrorism and militancy internationally, I think, the international community should take the responsibility, it`s the responsibility of the international community to find out the way to resist it.”
She said the international community is with Bangladesh in fighting terrorism and militancy. “All (international community) are taking a stance against the terrorism and militancy.”
The Prime Minister called upon the guardians and teachers of schools, colleges and universities to inform the government about the long time missing of children and students so that it can take steps to find them out.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina exchanged Eid greetings with people from all walks of life at Ganabhaban in the city.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, former Food Minister Abdur Razzak, former Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Dhaka South City Corporation mayor Sayeed Khokon were among others present on the occasion.
