Pahela Falgun to colour life with Valentine Day

577 desk, February 12: The first day of spring (Pahela Falgun) is on Monday.
While, Valentine Day- 14th February- to be celebrated on Tuesday in Bangladesh with much fervour as elsewhere in almost all other countries of the world.
Flower growers in Jhenidah and Jessore districts are already ready to supply flowers to different places across the country including capital city Dhaka.
The growers hoped that they would able to trade over Tk 30 crore on this valentine day.
Flower shops in Shahbagh, Gulshan and Mirpur areas have already collected various species of flowers like rose, gladiola, white rose and dahlia.
This day is celebrated for hundreds of years and it’s the ideal occasion to show your partner or spouse just what they meant to you.  Everybody is brimming with romance on the day. The young boy and girls are busy to buy perfect gifts for his/her friend or spouse. Everybody come to the street to share and celebrate his feelings of affection for boyfriend, girlfriend, and husband and wife.
The earliest day of description of February 14 as an annual celebration of love appears in the ‘Charter of the Court of Love’ in France.  The Charter believed to be issued by Charles VI of France at Mantes-la-Jolie in 1400, describes lavish festivities to be attended by several members of the royal court, which includes a feast, amorous songs and poetry competitions, jousting and dancing. Amidst these festivities, the attending ladies would hear and rule on disputes from lovers.
