Dhaka, September 1: A court in Dhaka on Tuesday granted a 6-day remand of Obaidul Kader in connection with the killing of Suraiya Akter Risha, a student of Willes Little Flower School.
Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain passed the order after Inspector (investigation) Ali Hossain of Ramna Police Station produced Obaidul before it with a 10-day remand plea.
The eighth grader was stabbed near her school under broad daylight. A few days after struggling for her life in the hospital, Risha breathed her last on August 28.
Finally, after days of remaining on the run, Obaidul was arrested from his hometown Nilphamari Wednesday.
Meanwhile, students of Willes Little Flower School continued their demonstration forming a human chain in front of their school in Kakrail demanding justice.
They have been agitating since the incident and threatened to go tougher if necessary.
