Dhaka, October 31: New Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Thursday evening.“During the meeting, the President congratulated new cabinet secretary for getting the optimum capacity in Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS),” President’s Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin said.
The head of the state said the civil servants can play a very significant role in the socio-economic development of the country.
President Hamid hoped that the civil servants, under his leadership, would be able to serve more to the people and help execute different development works of the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The cabinet secretary sought necessary cooperation and directives from the President in discharging his duties.
A civil servant of Bangladesh, Anwarul Islam is the country’s 22nd Cabinet Secretary. He was senior secretary to Bridges Division of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.
Secretaries concerned to the President were present at the meeting.
