Malayalam film actress Bhavana sexually harassed by her ex-driver in Kochi

4393 desk, February 18: A popular south Indian actress was waylaid by a group of unidentified persons and harassed in Kochi early on Saturday.
The shocking incident clearly shows that even big celebrities are not safe these days.
Meanwhile, the Kerala police have arrested a man after Malayalam actress Bhavana filed a complaint of carjacking against her former driver.
The actress reported to the police that she was abducted in her car by a gang of men near Athani in Angamaly as she was driving from Kochi to Thrissur after a shoot. The gang stopped her car and forced their way into it. She was harassed until they reached Palarivattom where the abductors got off and fled in another car.
Bhavana told the police that one of the men who got into her car was her former driver, Sunil Kumar. She said her abductors recorded video and took photographs of her during the episode.
Acting on Bhavana’s complaint, the Kerala police arrested a man named Martin, a driver, on Saturday. He had been recommended to Bhavana by her former chauffeur Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni, a native of Perumbavoor, who is now the main accused in the incident.
Police said the actress was abducted for one hour until she was dropped off 10.30 pm. Bhavana then took shelter at a veteran film director’s house in Kakkannad.
The director informed inspector-general P Vijayan about the incident on the phone. Following this deputy police commissioner Yathish Chandra and assistant police commissioner M Binoy went to the office of the director and recorded the actress’ statement.
It is learnt that a medical examination of the actress was carried out on Friday night.
