Dhaka, Feb 2: A pro-liberation organisation on Tuesday published a list of 200 former Pakistani military personnel who were involved in crimes against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971.
The organization also demanded their trial immediately.
Antorjatik Juddhoporadh Gonobichar Andolon published the list of Pakistani army men through a press conference at Segunbagicha in the capital.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, also convener of the organization, said that names of 195 men found guilty primarily but five more names were added later.
The list has been prepared based of information and date from different sources, he said.
“We have also received more information in this regard and after checking the data, updated list will be published again,” Shahjahan Khan added.
According to the list, 68 army men are accused of genocide and mastermind behind the mass killing. Besides, 118 accused of killing, looting, rape, arson and masterminding such crimes during the nine-month War of Independence in 1971.
Among the war criminals, one Lt General, five Maj Generals, five colonels, 20 Brig Generals, 39 Lt colonels, 81 majors and 45 captains.
Among others, journalist Abed Khan, film director Kazi Hayat, actress Rokeya Prachi, Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury and others attended in the press conference.
