Khaleda’s health better than before: Home Minister

Dhaka, May 14: The health condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is better than before and she is fasting, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said on Tuesday.He said this while talking to the journalists at his office in the Secretariat.

“As far I know she is fasting and her blood pressure is under control. She is taking insulin and the drugs of diabetes,” the minister said.

Khaleda Zia will be taken to Keraniganj Jail after her treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), the home minister said.

He further said the old central jail, where she had been kept since February last year, will be converted into a museum.

“Preparations to shift her are complete,” the minister said.

Former prime minister Khaleda Zia, who is receiving treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, was convicted and landed in prison for five years in February last year in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.

Later, she was also convicted in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
