Khaleda weeps besides her son Koko’s grave


Dhaka, January 24: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Tuesday offered fateha at the grave of her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko in the city.
In observance of the second anniversary of death of Koko, Khaleda Zia, along with her relatives and senior leaders of the party, went the Banani Graveyard after Asr prayer. She then offered fateha and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of Koko along with the party leaders. At that time, Khaleda Zia also wept remembering her son.
BNP secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, party’s standing committee members Mirza Abbas and Nazrul Islam Khan, vice-chairmen Mir Nasir Uddin and Begum Selima Rahman, organising secretary Shyama Obaid and other leaders were present.
Arafat Rahman Koko was the younger son of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He died of a cardiac arrest on 24 January 2015, at Malaysia National University Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Meanwhile, BNP and its associate bodies observed daylong programmes on Tuesday in observance of Koko’s death anniversary. The programmes included discussion, doa mahfil, Qurankhawni and milad mahfil.
