Khadiza’s condition remain unchanged, 72 hours expire afternoon


Dhaka, October 7: Condition of critically injured college student Khadiza Begum Nargis has remained unchanged till Friday.

On the other hand, 72-hour medical observation set the physicians attending to her ends today (Friday) afternoon.

On Thursday noon, physicians said they want to take 24 hours more to observe Khadiza Begum Nargis.

Family members of Khadija are very worried as physicians attending to her are pessimistic about chances of her surviving.

On Monday evening, Khadija Akter Nargis, a student of Sylhet Government Mohila College and daughter of Masuk Miah, a resident of Hausa village in Sadar upazila, was stopped on her way to home from college by Badrul Alam, assistant secretary of SUST unit of BCL.

At one stage, Badrul, son of Saidur Rahman, a resident of Manirgati village in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district, hacked Khadiza indiscriminately, leaving her critically injured.

Locals rescued Khadija and caught Badrul from the spot and beat him severely. Later, they handed him over to police.

Khadiza was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital from where she was referred to Dhaka around 12:10am on Tuesday as her condition deteriorated.

Later, she was shifted to Square Hospital.
