Dhaka, July 26: AKM Shahidul Haque, Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Tuesday said that slain militants in the city’s Kallyanpur were similar to the Gulshan café attackers.
“The militant had plans to carry out deadly subversive activities like Gulshan. It is somehow clear that they are the members of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujaheedin Bangladesh (JMB),” the IGP said while talking to reporters after visiting the scene in capital’s Kalyanpur where nine militants were killed in a special drive of joint forces.
He said, “Militants went on absconding in different hideouts in the capital. The special drive “Storm 26″ was driven on detective’s information.”
