Dhaka, December 20: Opposition in parliament Jatiya Party (JaPa) came out of Bangabhaban after holding talks with the President over the formation of the Election Commission (EC).
They placed five proposals to President Abdul Hamid over reformation of the EC.
A 17-member JP delegation led by its chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad entered the Bangabhaban at about 3:00pm on Tuesday. They came out of Bangabhaban at about 4:00pm after concluding their talks with the President.
The party was scheduled to hold a press briefing at his central office at Banani in the capital.
Other members of the delegation were Senior co-chairman and opposition leader Raushan Ershad, co-chairman Golam Muhammad Quader, secretary general ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, presidium members Anisul Islam Mahmud, Kazi Firoz Rashid, Ziauddin Bablu, Abdus Sattar, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Noor-e-Hasna Lily, Salma Islam and SM Faisal Chisty, among others.
