Themorningbellbd.com Desk, July 3: The controversial militant outfit Islamic State (IS) has released photos of gunmen from Dhaka’s upscale cafe attack on Friday night which claimed lives of 22 civilians and foreign nationals.
After a twelve-hour standoff with the police, total six gunmen were shot down by police on early Saturday morning, according to Bangladesh Army.
SITE Intelligence Group released the photos on Saturday night and claims that they’ve collected the photos from online platforms used by the Middle East based terrorist group.
According to earlier report by SITE Intelligence Group, Islamic State claimed responsibility for the assault in Holey Artisan Bakery, popularly known as Holey Bread, setting off a bloody standoff with the police in the capital Dhaka’s diplomatic zone.
At least two police officers were gunned down, 30 wounded mainly from splinters and 22 others were killed by the terrorists. The cafe was popular with expatriates, diplomats and middle-class families. It is in the capitals affluent Gulshan neighborhood.
Around 9.30PM on Saturday, SITE tweeted the photos of five young gunmen with the message ‘ISIS identified the five attackers involved in Bangladesh Attack and published their photos’.
The undated photos show the young men holding guns in their hands are standing in-front of IS flag and clad in black dresses with smile on the face.
