Themorningbellbd.com desk, May 31: An Indian Navy ship, INS Sumitra, the offshore patrol vessel has conducted a rescue operation for the victims of cyclone ‘Mora’ in the Bay of Bengal, Indian High Commission said.
The patrol vessel currently now at 90nm south off Chittagong Port, is carrying out the operation along with Bangladesh Navy.
Indian High Commission in Dhaka said around 32 Bangladeshi nationals were rescued and recovered a body from the Bay of Bengal at Maheshkhali point on Wednesday morning.
The ship is also carrying disaster relief materials for the cyclonic storm ‘Mora’ affected people of the coastal areas.
There is a possibility of more survivors and the operation is in progress, said the High Commission.
The search and relief operations are being coordinated with the Bangladesh Navy.
