Dhaka, May 2: The government on Monday set new office timing for the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies during the month of Ramzan.
The office hours will begin at 9:00am and continue till 3:30pm during the month of holy Ramzan.
The office schedule for the month of Ramzan was fixed at a regular weekly meeting of the cabinet held at secretariat on Monday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
After the meeting, Cabinet secretary M Shafiul Alam explained the decision of the cabinet while talking to reporters. He said there would be a 15 minutes break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayer.
Usually office hours at the government, semi-government and autonomous bodies start at 9:00am and continue till 5:00pm.
The cabinet secretary also said Bangladesh Bank and Supreme Court would fix own time schedule for the banks and courts according to their own regulations.
The holy Ramadan may begin on June 7 depending on moon sighting.
