Dhaka, Mar 19: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said the government is creating obstacle in legal proceedings to release their chairperson Khaleda Zia.“The government is creating obstacle in the legal proceedings to release our party chief Khaleda Zia,” he said.
The BNP leader was speaking at a press conference at Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
Mirza Fakhrul alleged that “the will of government is working to stay the bail granted by the High Court”.
He also said the government drove the last nail in its coffin by denying bail to party Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The BNP leader also observed that the court did not rejected the bail of Khaleda Zia. “The bail has technically been stayed. She is not getting any legal rights.”
He also added: “The government wants to keep Khaleda Zia for long days for assuming power by holding unilateral elections.”
