First case under Digital Security Act filed over selling fake questions

Dhaka, October 11: A case under Digital Security Act has been filed with Paltan Police Station against five members of a question paper leak syndicate over selling fake MBBS entry test questions.Molla Nazrul Islam, Special Police Superintendent of the Organized Crime Department of the CID came up with the information at a press briefing on Thursday.

He said that the mastermind of the operation, Kawsar Gazi, 19, said that since leaking real questions is no longer possible, they make false question papers and sell them.

In selling the questions, they use fake Facebook id, giving 100 per cent guarantee, the policeman added.

It’s found that in making false papers, the syndicate used to go through questions of previous years.

During a special CID operation, members of the fraudulent ring were arrested with mobiles and laptops.

“The case is under investigation; hopefully, we will be able to arrest more members of the group,’ the investigating police officer said.

The arrestees are Md Kauser Gazi, 19, Md Sohel Mia, 21, Md Tarikul Islam Shovon, 19, Md Rubyat Tanvir and Md Masudur Rahman Emon.

This is the first case under the much-talked-about Digital Security act which was given legal status after the president’s consent on Monday.
