Tangail, September 24: Two accused in Awami League leader and freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case were sent to jail after they surrendered before a court in Tangail on Saturday.
Judge Abul Mansoor rejected their bail petitions and ordered sending them to jail.
Tangail additional public prosecutor Monirul Islam Khan said prime accused Amanur Rahman Khan’s associate Nasiruddin Nuru and former municipal commissioner Masudur Rahman appeared at Tangail additional session judge court.
On Sunday last, Awami League MP Amanur Rahman Khan Rana was denied bail and sent to jail after he surrendered before a Tangail court in Faruk Ahmed murder case.
On January 18 in 2013, Awami League leader Faruk was shot dead in front of his residence in the district town. Later, his wife Nahar Ahmed filed a case in this connection.
