Dhaka, September 27: A Dhaka court on Friday again placed former Jubo League leader Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan on total 10-day remand in two cases lodged over possessing illegal arms and narcotics.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Didarul Alam passed the order, placing the accused on five-day remand in arms and another five-day remand in narcotics case.
The court came up with the order as Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) produced Khaleda before the court after end of his seven-day remand in the two cases and pleaded to place him on 20-day fresh remand.
Earlier on September 19, two courts placed Jubo League Dhaka South unit organizing secretary Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan on total seven-day remand in two cases lodged over possessing illegal arms and narcotics.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda put Khaled on a four-day remand in arms case, while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman placed him on a three-day remand in narcotics case on that day.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 arrested Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan from his Gulshan residence on September 18 evening for allegedly running an illegal casino in the city’s Fakirerpool area. The law enforcing agency seized illegal weapons, yaba and huge cash from his residence.
RAB handed him over to Gulshan Police Station on September 19 afternoon.
RAB filed three cases, one for possessing illegal arms, one under narcotics control act and one under money laundering prevention act against Khaled.
