Dhaka, July 08: Jatiya Party (JP) acting Chairman GM Quader on Monday said his brother HM Ershad, now on life support at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the city, isn’t out of danger.“I won’t say that the JP Chairman (HM Ershad) is now well. He is still alive, but not out of dangers,” GM Quader said.
The JP acting chairman came up with the updates of his brother’s condition at a press briefing at JP Chairman’s Banani office on Monday afternoon.
GM Quader said, “Today (Monday) becomes the 12th day of his admission to the hospital. His health condition remains still unchanged. His body organs have been kept active artificially with the help of medical equipment and medicine.”
He also informed that he has visited ailing Ershad at the CMH on 11:00am today.
“I have seen that he is having a deep sleep and undergoing a dialysis with the help of medical equipment,” GM Quader added.
HM Ershad, the 89-year-old former military strongman, has been suffering from various old age complications, including low haemoglobin and liver complication, high bilirubin and serious keen pain.
He was admitted to the CMH in the city on June 22 as his condition deteriorated.
At one stage, he was put on life support as his condition turned more critical on July 4.
He also underwent a kidney dialysis, an artificial way to remove waste from blood, at the Hospital on early Friday.
