Themorningbellbd.com Desk, July 6: A section of Muslims in different areas of the country are being celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr in conformity with Saudi Arabia on Wednesday,but the major portion of Muslims across the country will observe it on Thursday following local moon sighting.
Eid-ul-Fitr festival which celebrated in the end of holy month of Ramadan, one of the largest religious festivals of Muslims.
In capital, hundreds of Muslims celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr at Malibagh.
Besides in Chittagong, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated in 30 villages in Southern part of the district. Residents of the villages start fasting and celebrate Eid in conformity with Saudi Arabia.
The residences of the villages do it as per the direction of their religious leader — Pir Shaheb of Mariachi Darbar Sharif of Satkania under Chittagong district.
In Bhola, about 6,000 residents of 14 villages in five upazilas observed Eid-ul-Fitr in line with Saudi Arabian schedule.
The main Eid congregation was held at Mulaipattam village of Togbi union in Borhanuddin upazila.
Besides, people of 13 villages at Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah district also celebrated the festival on Wednesday.
