Dhaka, June 12: At least 247 people were killed and 664 others injured in 185 road crashes across the country during the Eid journey. Besides, at least 26 people were also killed in waterway and railway accidents.Bangladesh Passengers’ Rights Protection Council unveiled the information publishing a report at a press conference held at the National Press Club on Wednesday.
Based on the reports published on 18 national newspapers, 6 regional newspapers and 10 online news portals from May 30 to June 10, the council prepared the report.
The council also took information from the national orthopedic hospital to prepare the report.
Brigadier General (rtd) GM Kamrul Islam, president of the council, addressed at the press conference. Some members of the council including its general secretary Md Samsuddin Chowdhury were present among others.
