Dhaka, August 03: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday urged the agitating students not to fall into any ‘provocation trap’.“Having failed to cash in on the quota reform movement, BNP and fundamental forces are looking for a way to topple the government using students in the name of road safety. They want to instigate their movement,” he said.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, was talking to reporters after a joint meeting of Awami League Presidium and the presidents and secretaries of Dhaka north and south units of AL and other associated bodies.
He said the Prime Minister herself is taking care of the students’ demands.
The ruling party leader urged the demonstrating students to go back home, saying the government has accepted all of their demands.
He said indecent slogans are being chanted against the government by the vested quarters who intruded into the student movement and they are provoking subversion on roads.
Replying to a question, the minister said transport owners have been urged to withdraw their strike considering people’s sufferings.
