Keraniganj, January 30: Chief Justice SK Sinha on Monday asked the government to relocate lower courts near Dhaka Central Jail at Keraniganj to facilitate carrying of accused to courts.
“Lower courts should be relocated near the central jail. We have seen many accused were snatched while carrying them to courts from the Kashimpur jail,” he said.
The chief justice said while speaking at a meeting after his visit to Keraniganj Central Jail in the morning.
He also observed that it’s very much risky to bring daring accused to courts.
SK Sinha also assured quick disposal of BDR 2009 mutiny case. “Discussion was held with the judges for quick disposal of the case.”
Meanwhile, he ordered the IG Prison Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin to set up a library in the jail.
He also handed over books worth Tk 1 lakh for the prisoners.
